Who is Hannah?

Hannah is a Bozeman local, graduating from Bozeman Senior High School in 2015. After high school she became a 3rd generation auctioneer, graduating from Western College of Auctioneering in 2016. She started her early career fundraising as an auctioneer and development coordinator in Tampa, FL. She fell in love with the non-profit organizations in her tropical backyard. Children’s cancer research, women’s philanthropy groups, rare disease fundraisers, domestic violence awareness, foster programs, wildlife conservation groups and more. Returning to her hometown of Bozeman, MT in 2021, she started pursuing her auction profession full time. Hannah knows she wears her heart on her sleeve and uses that character trait to her advantage on stage. Hannah’s goal is to create safe spaces for impactful storytelling and motivated giving. She’s had a blast facilitating just that, while hosting the International Auctioneer Championships for two years in a row & the World Automobile Auction Championships in 2022 & 2025. Interviewing competitors & sharing stories that shape the auction industry. Hannah recently became a Benefit Auction Specialist in 2024, a designation received through the National Auction Association. Being a benefit auction specialist, she believes in fully embodying the mission presented, completing her consultations with a physical on-sight tour when possible. She loves being an ambassador for non-profits & helping them drive home their missions.

World Automobile Auctioneer Championships
Phoenix, AZ

The World Automobile Auctioneers Championship (WAAC) is an annual competition celebrating top automobile auctioneers, ringmen, and teams. Founded in 1989 and now under the National Auto Auction Association, the event showcases skills like bid calling, clarity, and teamwork. Rotating locations yearly, the WAAC is a premier title in the auctioneering field, with winners earning industry acclaim. I had the distinct pleasure of hosting the live broadcast, interviewing competitors, and sharing our industry’s most intimate stories.

Certified Auctioneers Institute

Bloomington, IN

April 1st - 4th

CAI is different from NAA’s other designations. It’s a three-year program in which attendees spend a week each year onsite at Indiana University. It’s an intensive program involving late nights working on projects, in committees, fine-tuning business plans, and other projects that happen in the time between classes.

CAI, unlike other designations, focuses on the business of the auction industry rather than on a particular asset class. While attendees learn about different types of auctions, the focus is on business planning, development and structure. Attendees register for CAI I, CAI II, and CAI III in successive years. Gaps between CAI I, II and III of more than two years require approval of the Education Director, and often are addressed by having attendees audit CAI classes for a year before returning to the program.

Madison - Gallatin Annual Troutfest

Madison Gallatin Trout Unlimited has been paramount in maintaining the quality of our Montana watersheds. Since 1968 they have organized river clean ups, river restoration, and regulated fish population across SW Montana’s blue ribbon trout rivers. This is MGTU’s only major fundraiser of the year, and every dollar raised helps conserve, protect and restore Southwest Montana’s blue ribbon fisheries and their watersheds.

A wee bit of (her)story

Busby Land and Auction Co. was founded in 1950 by Carl William Busby “Whiz” to his friends & frequent auction attendees. Whiz, along with his wife Marilyn Myers Busby specialized in everything from farmland sales, real estate, local fundraisers, fine art & even an incredibly successful antique porcelain doll auction company led by Marilyn herself, of course.

Carl & Marilyn had 3 beautiful children - Leigh Ann, Tim, & Patrick. Each of them fell in love with their multi-generational agricultural roots in their unique ways. Two of them pursued an auction career. Since attending auction school together in 1981 Tim & Pat have had incredible opportunities - including auctioneering for national chapter wildlife conservation groups, political initiatives, and even star-studded fundraisers on the most private ranches in Montana.

Tim & Patrick each found their path in the auction industry and found ways to partner with the organizations they care most about. In honor of that and my entrepreneurial, Irish & German immigrant ancestors who paved the way before me - I am proud to present for the first time, Auctions with Hannah. I hope my experience & heritage bring only humility & collaboration to the table.
